GoldenWeek itinerary

GoldenWeek itinerary

Japan has 2 LONG holiday season in Japan (on calendar). The year-end and New Year holidays from late December to January, and Golden Week in early May. Until last year, it was not easy to move because of the COVID19, but from this year, it has mitigated a lot, so I wanted go somewhere. but couldn’t decide until end of April…. Finally decide to travel oversea!!

However, nothing was decided even destination. I wanted to choose destination has been determined under the following conditions.

1. Asia
I believe it would be tough for long flight and still have many places in Asia that I have not been to, so I decided to choose among the countries I have not been to in Asia. One thing to be careful of is that some asia countries are very hot from May.

2. Marriott

As a Marriott Platinum member.. I had a free accommodation voucher from my Marriott credit card.. I wanted to use it on overseas. It was the best if I have someone to go with.. But..😭 with Marriott Platinum, free breakfast/lounge access is often included (services can be different slightly depending on the hotel). I’m not very interested in local food, so this time I took hotel breakfast and lounge (although I regret it a little..)

3. Mileage

Because I am a member of Star Alliance Gold.. have many benefits when using Star Alliance member flight. and I can save many cost because usually flight is very expensive on the peak season but not for mileage ticket. so I wanted to use mileage to purchase an airline ticket this time, however, since I searched just before Golden Week, I didn’t have many options..

Candidates were Hong Kong/Singapore/Philippines, but this time Hong Kong! was decided to be the destination. However, there is one thing I learned while preparing for this schedule… It was that using mileage points, I can visit many places using secret (?) techniques.

From Tokyo -> Taipei -> Macau -> Hong Kong -> Seoul -> To Tokyo.
